HYPRSPACE
POWERING AEROSPACE FUTURE WITH THE NEXTGEN PROPULSION TECHNOLOGY
At HyPrSpace, our mission is clear: to make advanced propulsion technology affordable and accessible for a wide array of applications, from civilian to defense. With our pioneering hybrid rocket engine, we're introducing a new era of aerospace capabilities—more efficient, cost-effective, safer, and sustainable.
Joining us :
Join the adventure at HyPrSpace, where innovation, collaboration, and humor blend to create groundbreaking advancements in space propulsion.
As part of the #SpaceBakers team, you’ll contribute to a unique, patented technological leap, embarking on the full lifecycle development of a launch vehicle. Immerse yourself in an environment that prioritizes a "test and learn" philosophy, ensuring your ideas not only take flight but soar.
At HyPrSpace, your work directly impacts our trajectory towards success, offering rapid skill development in an iterative, hands-on approach.
Enjoy competitive compensation, flexible working conditions, and equity through our BSPCE stock option plan, all within the vibrant surroundings of Bordeaux, a nexus of culture, viniculture, and coastal life!
Role overview :
As a Fluidic System Design Intern, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of fluidic subsystems for our hybrid rocket engine. Your role will be hybrid—combining theoretical modelling, analysis, and hands-on testing—as you help optimize fluidic architectures, characterize components, and participate in test bench operations. You will collaborate closely with propulsion, avionics, mechanics, and AIT teams to ensure subsystem performance meets mission requirements.
Your key responsibilities :
As part of your internship and in direct connection with your academic training, you will be involved in the following missions :
Optimize and upgrade fluidic test facilities to validate flight-model valves under various operating conditions.
Specify and perform experimental tests to characterize valve actuators and other fluidic equipment.
Participate in the processing and analysis of data from multiple test campaigns.
Contribute to the design and operation of subsystem test benches.
Characterize equipment leakage and update validation procedures for future qualifications.
Support vibration environment testing and collaborate with external laboratories.
Adapt existing modelling tools to analyze the engine shut-off phase, and participate in engine fire tests to validate the model experimentally.
Internship Details :
Duration : 6 months
Start Date : January – April
Work Schedule : Full time
Location : On-site, Le Haillan, 33185, France
Who we are looking for :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
Strong knowledge in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
Understanding of propulsion fundamentals and mechanical systems.
Bonus skills: numerical modelling, cryogenics, vibration/frequency analysis.
Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team.
Autonomous, rigorous, and capable of synthesizing complex information.
Enthusiastic about the “test & learn” philosophy !
Proficient in English.
Hands-on mindset and interest in workshop/test activities.
Programming experience (Python, MATLAB, VBA, C++, etc.) is a plus.
What We Offer :
In return for your expertise and dedication, we're offering :
The opportunity to work directly on fluidic subsystems powering our hybrid rocket engine.
Hands-on experience with test benches, engine tests, and real propulsion hardware.
Mentorship from experienced propulsion engineers in a dynamic startup environment.
